Barrington Police were dispatched to 90 Bay Spring Avenue on Friday, Aug. 27 for a report of two suspicious people sitting outside the apartment complex.

Officers located the individuals and spoke to them. One of the individuals, later identified as Benjamin Rucker, 26, of Cambridge, Mass., allegedly gave false information to police during the questioning.

Police eventually discovered there were two active warrants out for Mr. Rucker — one out of Pawtucket and another from Superior Court. Police said Mr. Rucker also had a set of car keys in his possession that were traced back to a car reported stolen out of Pawtucket.

Police arrested Mr. Rucker on the two warrants and also charged him with possession of a stolen vehicle, receiving stolen goods, and obstructing an officer in the execution of duty. Police said Mr. Rucker was transported to the ACI where he is being held.
