The Barrington Police Department will host a community safety event on Saturday, April 30.
This event will be located at Barrington Town Hall, in the rear parking area from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Barrington Police Department, in partnership with the community, will provide services and products free to all. “Our goal is to work with the community to make Barrington as safe as possible by providing a variety of services and products in one central location,” stated a press release from the department.
The police will conduct child seat installations and checks, and also child ID fingerprinting. The department will distribute free gun locks and bike helmets and reflectors. There will also be free health and human services information available and Narcan. The community safety event will also serve as a drug take-back event.
“Let’s not stick our head in the sand and pretend that societal problems are not here. They are,” said Barrington Police Chief Michael Correia.
Police officers will be on-hand to answer any questions people may have.
“We encourage you to come enjoy a free Del’s Lemonade while checking out our new electric police car and meeting Sheriff K9 Robika,” stated the release.
