Barrington’s Ava Tine and her teammates on the US Women’s Eight boat won first place in the FISU 2024 World University games.
Tine is an alum of the East Bay Rowing club, and after graduating from Barrington High School she went on to row at the University of Delaware. This spring, Tine tried out for the US entry for the FISU (or Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire) games. She was selected for the team and has been training with other young women from across the country.
Last weekend, the US Women’s Eight boat finished first at FISU. The competition was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
The Federation Internationale du Sport Universitaire is the recognized governing body for international university sports.
