Arts Alive! and the students at Barrington Middle School will perform Mean Girls, Jr. this month.

There will be four chances to see this “fetch” musical which is packed with keen wit, an undeniable catchy score, and a sincere message for everyone.

“We know you’ll be wowed by this fearless musical about chasing popularity and being true to yourself,” stated a press release from Arts Alive. “This comedy is guided by lessons on empowerment, inclusivity, acceptance and finding your voice!”

Performances will be held at Barrington Middle School on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 24 at 1 p.m. Tickets are general admission and cost $10. Tickets will be available online at www.artsalivebarrington.org as well as at the door (cash, check & Venmo) before each performance. Friday’s show will have a special talk back session post show.

“The talented BMS actors, musical direction team, and outstanding choreography make the show a real treat to watch, but Mean Girls is truly a message play,” said Arts Alive Founder Dena Davis. “It fits well with middle and high school students trying to figure out where they belong. We hope you enjoy this exhilarating journey through the halls of North Shore High and (ultimately) take some important lessons with you. The creative team and the cast have enjoyed examining our own experiences and how we can play a more active part in spreading kindness in situations we all recognize can be difficult (no matter your age).”
