Eagles tangle with Townies in D-II showdown

East Providence captures 3-0 win

The Barrington High School girls volleyball team battled a tough East Providence team last week — the Townies blanked the Eagles, 3-0.

East Providence, currently ranked third in Division II, ran its record to 7-2. Barrington fell to 3-6 with the loss.

The Eagles are 2-2 in their last four matches — Barrington knocked off Burrillville 3-0 in late September and defeated Lincoln on Oct. 4.

The Eagles were scheduled to play at Pilgrim on Tuesday and will host Ponaganset on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
