Barrington Police responded to a Briarfield Road home at about 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, after an unidentified elderly man walked into the home.

The man allegedly told a resident at the home that his father lived there, but that was not the case. Police said the incident frightened a child at the home.

Police are trying to contact the elderly man’s family in an effort to get him some assistance. The elderly man is a Providence resident and took the RIPTA bus to town, police said.
