Police issue stern warning to man who took off with wallet

Man also barred from going to gas station

Posted

A Barrington resident called police on Monday, Sept. 19 after losing his wallet at a County Road gas station.

The man said he left his wallet on his vehicle when driving away and it fell to the ground. Police said a witness then saw someone pick up the wallet and leave the area, riding a bicycle south toward Warren.

A different witness helped police track down the man who picked up the wallet — that individual later admitted to taking the wallet, removing the cash from it, and throwing it in a trash container.

Police were able to retrieve the cash and issued the man a no trespassing order for the gas station property. Police said they also gave the man a stern warning for taking the wallet.
