Police order teenagers off Barrington school roof

Swansea boys not charged

Posted

Barrington Police responded to Hampden Meadows School on Sunday, Nov. 27 at about 11:20 a.m. after receiving a phone call from someone who saw two individuals climbing onto the roof of the school.

Officers located the two people — they were both 14-year-old Swansea, Mass. boys. Police asked the boys what they were doing on the school roof. The boys allegedly told police that they were just bored and looking for something to do. The police officers told the boys that climbing onto a school roof was not an appropriate activity, just because they were bored.

Police then called the boys’ parents — the boys were later released to their parents. No one was charged.
