Police: Unknown woman and her dog found inside Barrington home

Odd discovery leaves resident concerned for intruder's mental health

Posted

A Nayatt Road resident called police on Monday, Aug. 19 after she discovered an unknown woman and her dog inside the home.

The resident told police she came home and found the woman — described as being 55- to 60-years old with shoulder length brown hair and having a stout build — upstairs in her home. The resident told police the woman also had her dog with her; it was a golden retriever.

The resident told police she did not know how the woman got into the home and she was concerned about her mental health.

The unknown intruder left the home before police could arrive. She was driving a white Infiniti.

Police searched the area for the suspect vehicle but could not find it. Police said nothing was reported missing from the home.

According to the police dispatch log, the unknown woman may have been named “Kelly.”

About two weeks ago, a Rumstick Road resident reported discovering an unknown and uninvited teenage girl inside his home.
