Portsmouth, Barrington play to 1-1 tie in boys’ soccer (photos)

BARRINGTON — The Eagles and the Patriots played to a 1-1 tie in a Division I boys’ varsity soccer matchup on Tuesday in Barrington. 

Both goals were scored in the second half, after a scoreless first.

After the game, Portsmouth’s record stood at 2-1-2 in Division I. Barrington was 1-2-2.

The Patriots were shut out by Bishop Hendricken on Sept. 14, 3-0. They beat La Salle Academy and Central Falls, both by 1-0 scores; and tired South Kingstown in their season opener, 1-1.

The Patriots hit the road to face North Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, before returning home to play Tolman at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24. They travel to Cranston High West for a 6 p.m. game on Sept. 28 before hosting East Providence at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The Eagles next face Kellenberg on the road at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21. After that, they play at St. John the Baptist at 1 p.m. on Sept. 22, before returning home to face Moses Brown at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24. They’ll hit the road again against Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.
