Barrington’s Hope Robertson is running for her dad.

Hope will participate in the B.A.A. Half Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 12 in memory of her father, the late Dr. Alex Robertson, who was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive brain tumor in March 2022 during Hope’s senior year of college, and lost his battle with cancer in March of this year at the age of 54.

Hope will be raising money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund as part of her half-marathon.

Hope worked at Dana-Farber as a clinical research coordinator while her father was being treated. 

“That role allowed her to stay close to home and help take care of her father, as well as work with other cancer patients to make a positive impact on their lives,” stated a press release from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. “Hope is raising funds for Dana-Farber as it has become a special place for her and she hopes to work toward a cancer-free future.”
