The Barrington High School boys outdoor track team won the state championship on Saturday, June 1, at Connelly Stadium in Providence.

Barrington scored 120 team points and finished ahead of second place Hendricken (108.5 points), third place LaSalle (96 points) and 30 other teams.

Barrington had a number of individual first- and second-place finishes.

BHS sophomore Patrick Trainor won the long jump with a distance of 22 feet, 3 inches. His teammate and fellow sophomore Caleb Satisfield finished second in the event with a jump of 21 feet, 11.5 inches.

Barrington High School senior Ethan Knight won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 38.40 seconds.

The Eagles also went one-two in the 110-meter hurdles. Knight won the event with a time of 14.31 seconds, while his teammate Bobby Wind was second with a time of 14.55 seconds.

Barrington’s 4x100-meter relay team ran to a second place finish, and the Eagles’ 4x400-meter relay team and 4x800-meter relay team both finished in third place overall.

Barrington also won Division and Class championships earlier this season.

This is Barrington's second track championship in the last two seasons — the BHS boys indoor track team won a state title this winter.
