A day full of festivities celebrating Tiverton pride kicked off at 10 a.m. Saturday with the return of the Tiverton Celebrates parade, which came back with a roar after a two-year hiatus. Parade participants marched down Main Road, highlighting everyone from small businesses to local and state representatives, including Governor Dan McKee. Recent Tiverton High graduate Aidan McCrosson and Town Clerk Joan Chabot served as parade commentators for this year. Former Tiverton Athletic Director Bob Murray was honored as the 2022 Grand Marshal for the parade, after a well-respected 40-year career with Tiverton athletics. And despite the cancellation of the parade due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the town found a way to honor the grand marshals from previous years. Patricia Curran and Alex Cote were selected as the 2020 Grand Marshals, and Town Councilor Joe Perry was selected as the 2021 Grand Marshal.

The day continued with a series of charity softball games at the John Raposa Memorial softball field, with various fire and police department teams stepping up to bat for a good cause, and wrapped up with evening festivities run as the Tiverton Family Festival.
