To the editor:
The monopoly of Rhode Island Energy is hiking our prices up as much as 47%. We all received an email about it from our energy overlords over the summer, and my question is, why are we taking it? None of us want to or can afford to pay a rate hike that ridiculous.
This affects us all, so we need to put our divisions aside and stand up to this company. Governor McKee has the ability to step in and help, so he should be our first priority. Email him with your concerns about Rhode Island Energy’s price hike. It's an election year, so he needs to listen to the general will of the people, or be voted out. Contact your local politicians as well, including your district representatives and state senators.
Rhode Island has a long history of struggling against power, and Rhode Island Energy is attempting to exert its power and control on us. Let's show them why messing with the smallest state is the biggest problem.
Write letters to the paper, contact your politicians, and email Governor McKee's office and let them know we are upset.
