Manuel “Pete” Carvalho passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Herman and husband Brad, daughter Melissa Carvalho and husband Jeff, grandson Leverett (LJ) Sanford, affectionately known to Pete as “Keno,” and great-granddaughter, Adalyn Cook Sanford.
Pete is also survived by his sister, Joan Stone, along with his nieces, Crystal Gaw and husband Roy, Meggin Handrigan and husband John and nephew Deloy “Chip” Stone, with whom he had a very special relationship, along with his wife Toni and daughter Margaret.
He also leaves behind many cousins, extended family members and friends. Pete is pre-deceased by his mother Belmira Carvalho, father Manual A. Carvalho and brother in-law Deloy Stone Sr.
Although Pete was a dairy farmer at Carvalho‘s dairy farm for many years, he was also a gifted automotive painter, loved the local waters, and was a lobsterman and quahogger.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
Arrangements under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, Westport.
