Well-known Little Compton dairy farmer was born and raised in Westport

Donald C. “Ducky” Tripp, 86, of Little Compton, passed away at home on Saturday, June 11, 2022 with family by his side. He was the husband of Joan D. (Harmon) Tripp; they shared 62 years of marriage.

Mr. Tripp was born and raised in Westport, son of the late Arthur and Lydia (Orcutt) Tripp, and had resided in Little Compton for over 50 years. A well-known dairy farmer, he began his career at the former Fair Home Farm in Westport. Following his move to Little Compton, he started his own working dairy farm. He later purchased the Yankee Bill Farm in Westport, where he could always be found with a smile selling native fruits and vegetables.

Survivors along with his wife include his son, Donald Tripp of Westport; three daughters, Deborah Seavor of Little Compton, Bonnie Edge of Dorchester, NH and Sandra Smith of Largo, FL; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Milton Tripp, Curtis Tripp and Susan Tripp. He was also predeceased by seven siblings.

Funeral services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, MA 02790 at 11:30 a.m.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the service.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Road, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
