Letter: What a day — Petals and Meadows was wonderful

The Sogkonate Garden Club wishes to thank the communities of Tiverton, Little Compton and Westport for their enthusiastic support of our recent garden tour, “Petals and Meadows.”  There was something for everyone to see at the 15 diverse gardens and meadows. It was a sellout event — thanks to your paper for helping to get the word out.

Particular thanks go to the many garden owners who not only put extra effort into their personal spaces but also welcomed and chatted with visitors. For a first-time event, it was a steep learning curve for our members and we look forward to the rewards of the profits funding community projects.

A great day was had by all ... the ‘irritants’ being lack of road signs and poor cell phone reception. The things we tolerate in our land of lovely gardens!
