Vehicles destroyed in Westport fire

A truck and SUV were destroyed and a home damaged in an early morning fire on Forge Road Sunday. Firefighters were called to the scene at approximately 5:40 a.m. by a neighbor, who also alerted the sleeping residents. Responding fire crews found two vehicles fully involved with flames spreading to the home’s exterior, but were able to quickly knock down and contain the fire to the exterior, resulting in minimal damage to the interior. Firefighters from Dartmouth Fire District 3 responded to the scene to assist. The fire, which was investigated by members of the Westport police and fire departments and troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation Unit, is not considered suspicious.
