Warren PD seize large drug haul following fire call

On Dec. 2, 2021, Warren Police and Fire were dispatched to 72 Kickemuit Road for a report of a smoke condition in the apartment building.

Upon officers and firefighters arriving on scene, it was found that the smoke condition was coming from a second floor apartment. While firefighters attempted to vent the residence, officers and the second floor tenant, identified as Anthony Miranda (Age: 31) of Warren, RI, responded into the apartment to assess any damage which may have been caused. Officers then observed in plain view, several large vacuum sealed bags containing suspected marijuana.
During the investigation, a large amount of additional narcotics was located in the apartment along with cash and scales.

The investigation resulted in locating approximately 25 pounds of marijuana, five marijuana plants, eight ounces of Psilocybin Mushrooms, one ounce of cocaine, MDMA(Molly) and marijuana wax (Dab). In addition to this, $2,754.00 cash was also seized.

Anthony Miranda was taken into custody and was held overnight for arraignment later in the morning at Sixth District Court on the following charges: One (1) count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana – Over 5 Kilo. and four (4) counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance Schedule I-V.
