PORTSMOUTH — A 29-year-old Middletown man was arrested last week after he allegedly placed a GPS tracking locator in a woman’s vehicle.

A 32-year-old Portsmouth woman complained to police that Sergio Abelino Perez Ta, of 999 Aquidneck Ave., had purposely placed the electronic device in her personal vehicle in order to track her whereabouts, according to police

Middletown Police located Perez Ta and took him into custody. Around 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, Portsmouth Police charged him with domestic electronic tracking of a motor vehicle.

Thursday, March 7

Dakota Ryan Garrison, 28, of 288 Malacca, Okron, Ohio, was charged at about 1 p.m. with larceny of over $1,500, and access to computer for fraudulent purposes. The arrest was the result of a felony fraud investigation by the Portsmouth Detective Division. Police established enough probable cause to issue an arrest warrant, and Garrison later turned himself in at the police station, police said. 

Jamie A. Brewer, 47, of 2 Namquid Drive, Middletown, was charged with domestic assault at about 5:45 p.m. Police had an outstanding warrant for Brewer, and he was later detained by Middletown Police. The victim was a 42-year-old woman who lives in Portsmouth, according to police. 

Saturday, March 9

Bruce R. Pelletier, 61, of Founder's Brook Motel & Suites, 314 Boyds Lane, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), second offense, at about 4:20 p.m. Pelletier was pulled over near the motel after he was observed traveling around 45 mph in a 25 mph zone, drift into the breakdown lane, and cut someone off while entering a private driveway, according to police.

Jean Nikolai Tollborg, 35, of 21 Federal St., Apt. 3, Warren, was charged with DUI, first offense, after being stopped for multiple roadway violations on West Main Road at Freeborn Street around 6:20 p.m. Tollborg was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, police said.

Sunday, March 10

Edward Francis McManus, 58, of 115 Col. Christopher Green Road, was charged with driving after his license had been suspended, revoked or canceled — his seventh offense, according to police. McManus was pulled over on West Main Road shortly before 8 a.m. for failing to maintain the lane of travel, police said.
