Newport woman facing DUI charge

Posted

Barrington Police charged Johanna L. Kilroy, 38, of Newport, with DUI of liquor-.15 or greater-first offense, and domestic violence-criminal violation of a no contact order, following an incident on Thursday, Oct. 19.

Police said they received reports of a vehicle driving the wrong way on the Wampanoag Trail at about 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 19. Officers responded to the Trail but could not find the vehicle.

Police eventually located the suspect vehicle parked at the RIPTA park and ride lot on County Road.

Police said Kilroy appeared to be intoxicated and failed several field sobriety tests. While checking her ID, police also discovered there was an arrest warrant out for Kilroy for domestic violence-criminal violation of a no contact order.
