Eagles finish fourth at RIIL Game Day Cheer Comp

The Barrington High School cheer team finished fourth out of 21 teams that competed in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League Game Day Cheer Comp late last month.

The Eagles, coached by Kayla Toman and Jamie Testa, also finished third in their division. The RIIL Game Day Cheer Comp was held at Cranston Station. 

Members of the BHS cheer team are Isabella Alves, Mia Casanova, Maddox Cooley, Addi Corrow, Ava DePrisco, Miah Grilo, Abby Guertler, Kaylin Hession, Grace Lamoureux, Greta Lepore, Ava Bella Luis, Ava Maddox, Ella Grace Mollmann, Kaleigh Moran, Katie O’Brien, Maddy Oldham, Alex Pendleton, Gabriella Pinheiro, Emma Schnippering, Morgane Seadale, Ivy Simon, Sarah Simon and Becca Wilcox.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
