Despite game plan, Barrington loses to LaSalle

Lightning delays girls lacrosse game against Lincoln School

The Barrington High School girls lacrosse team was mid-way through the second quarter of a game against Lincoln School last Wednesday when rain poured down and lightning flashed across the sky.

The hard-hitting storm forced officials to postpone the contest — the game will resume on Sunday, May 19 with the Eagles leading 7-2.

On Monday, May 13, Barrington lost to LaSalle, 13-5. Alex Hope scored one goal and assisted on two other scores. She also had one draw control. Emily Horn finished with two goals, and Anna Lombardi had one goal, one assist and one draw control. Bailey Duncan finished the game with one assist and two draw controls.

Katie McAdams played well in goal for the Eagles — she finished with 12 saves and kept the Eagles in the match.

“We didn’t take care of the ball offensively and the Rams capitalized on winning the majority of the draws,” said BHS Coach Selina Dacey. “We prepared, set forth a plan and didn’t execute which is a hard pill to swallow knowing it came down to our mindset and ability to work together.”

The Eagles’ JV team powered to a 12-10 win over LaSalle. Molly DiGiacomo scored four goals, and had two draw controls, while Sophia Scandura had three goals and one assist. Ruby Turgeon scored two goals and had one assist. Maddie Spear, Olivia Pereira and Katelyn Morton each scored goals, while Prim Anderson and Orly Boyes had assists. Zoe Weiser had one assist and five draw controls, and Maggie Despines made five saves.

Barrington will host top-seeded Moses Brown on Thursday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m.
