Farmers' market planned for this week, all summer in Barrington

Farmers' market will be held at St. John’s Church

Residents and non-residents alike can look forward to a new farmers' market in Barrington this summer.

The farmers' market will be held at St. John’s Church on Thursdays, June 9, July 14, and Aug. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Barrington Business and Community Association is helping plan the farmers' market, which will feature a number of vendors, including Bee Mindful, Lumpia Bros, Fieldstone Kombucha, Secrets in the Kitchen, RI Nut Co., Perfect Empanadas, LaFleur honey, We Be Jammin, Coast to Coasters, Art of the Gem, Water Way Farm, Fetch Pet Care, Triton seafood, Won Sports, Barrington Farm School, Juniper Hill Apothecary and Simply Chickie. The Emmett Van Leer Trio will perform live music during the June 9 event.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
