The cold wet weather on Sunday, May 19, could not dampen the spirits of those who participated in this year’s HMS Tough Tiger adventure race.
As usual, a very large crowd turned out for the event, which raises money for the Hampden Meadows School PTO. The participants were treated to dozens of fun obstacles, including a huge mud pit and “car wash” located near the finish line.
The Tough Tiger actually offered two courses — a Blue Course that followed along side-streets, through the woods to Sowams School, back along the Greenbelt trail, and past Kent Street Pond, and a Yellow Course that had adaptive features that catered to a range of abilities.
The first 1,000 people to register received a Tough Tiger T-shirt.
The HMS campus also played host to plenty of other activities, including class basket raffles, and plenty of food trucks.
