Letter: Delighted by our diverse and welcoming community

To the editor:

Thank you to BaySide Pride for bringing its Drag Extravaganza to town, and to the amazing Barrington Public Library and its team for hosting the show. What a way to spend an afternoon!

The free event featured a range of talented drag queens and drag kings. The sets included comedy, music, dance, and glamour, with impressive performances and magnetic energy throughout. The auditorium was filled with families, college students and senior citizens, and every age in between. The emcee, Semi Sweet, did a fabulous job keeping the crowd engaged during the show and providing fun and informative responses to one young audience member in particular who enjoyed peppering her with questions and comments between performances.

I am truly delighted by our increasingly diverse and welcoming community and to the many people who share their talent, expertise, energy and love with all our neighbors.
