Antone J. Rapoza, 94, of Bristol

Antone J. Rapoza, 94, passed away peacefully in Bristol on Monday, July 26, 2021. He was the husband of the late Pauline P. (Pirri) Rapoza and the father of the late Jessica Silvia.

Born in Fall River, Mass., he was the son of the late Manuel and Margaret Rapoza.

Antone was very proud of his service to our nation in the United State Marine Corps. After being discharged, Antone worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for many years. On his free time, he loved to be at the Loafer’s Corner with his friends. Antone was an avid sports fan, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Antone married into the Pirri family and leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom will always lovingly remember him as “Uncle Muff.”

In death, Antone is reunited with his wife Pauline, his daughter Jessica, his parents, and his siblings: Manuel Rapoza, Jr., Mary Medeiros, Margaret Cabral, Joseph Rapoza, Deolinda Borges, John Rapoza, and George Rapoza.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday July 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Visiting hours will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Columban Fathers Retirement Center, P.O. Box 65, Bristol RI 02809.
