Bristol church's ribbon project begins with the first day of Lent

Posted

Jo Zigler, Jan Coates and St. Michael's Episcopal Church Reverend Canon Michael J. Horvath were out in the cold first thing Wednesday. morning to tie purple ribbons around the wrought iron railing in front of the church.

The ribbons bear messages of hope, prayer and inspiration. It was the first day of Lent, and the first day of an effort to invite the community to join the ribbon project outside of the church at the corner of Hope and Church streets in downtwo Bristol.

Residents are invited to write and tie their own messages throughout the Lenten season.
