Paul LaFleur (right) was recently sworn in as the new President of Bristol Rotary for the fiscal year 2022-23 during a lunch meeting at DeWolf Tavern. LaFleur has been a Rotarian for 25 years and has been president three times. He was sworn in by Rotary Assistant District Governor Betty Galligan (center) to replace Elizabeth Habecker (left), the outgoing club president.

During the same meeting, the club gave a special thank you to Chef Sai Viswanath of DeWolf Tavern for his longtime commitment to Rotary, especially for the challenges of accommodating the club and its needs throughout the pandemic.

The Bristol Rotary Club recently made charitable donations to 13 different organizations: Women’s Resource Center, Rogers Free Library, Community String Project, Linden Place, Rhode Island Veterans Home, Rotary Scholarship Fund, Boy Scouts of America, Mosaico - Sense of Pride Program, Haiti’s Child, The Autism Project (TAP), the East Bay Food Pantry, the Friends of St. Elizabeth Food Pantry, and Dorcas International Institute of R.I. In addition, the club continues to raise money for donations to the Ukraine.

A “Country Western Night” fundraiser will be held Saturday, July 23, at the “Watkinson Ranch,” at 51 Sherman Ave. Tickets are $40 per person, and more details are available at the club’s website, bristolrotaryclub.com.
