Julie Goucher, the Town Treasurer and Finance Director, whose financial oversight made possible so many of the infrastructure improvements Bristol enjoys today, is moving on.
It’s a bittersweet transition for Goucher, who is moving to Arizona to be closer to family, something she is very much looking forward to. At the same time, she’s finding that Bristol is not an easy town to leave.
“I’m so sad to be leaving Bristol. I love it here,” she said. “I love the community and working with Steve and the department heads, Council and staff.”
She will be transitioning into a similar position in a town not far from her new home of Sedona, but will be taking advantage of the time difference and working part time for both communities, helping to keep Bristol in its sound financial position until a suitable replacement can be found.
By all accounts, Goucher will be missed both personally and professionally by her colleagues.
“It will be a great loss for us,” said Town Administrator Steve Contente. “But it’s the best thing for her family.”
The full job posting can be found on the Town's website are due by 4 p.m. on July 8.
