George Almeida, 31, of Bristol

George Almeida, 31, of State Street, Bristol, passed away on July 11, 2021. 

Born in Providence, he was son of Jose DaPonte Almeida and Maria Teresa (Melo Santos) Almeida.  He is survived by his son, Jorge Almeida; and was the nephew of Antonio (Shirley) Almeida, Maria Conceicao (Jose) Branco, Maria das Neves (Dinis) Melo, Joao (Jussara) Almeida, Antero “Teri” (Coleen) Cordeiro, Rui Almeida, and Nelson (Jen) Almeida.  He also leaves behind many beloved cousins.

Mr. Almeida was educated in Bristol and employed by Joe Franco Landscaping.

His funeral services were held July 19 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Stacy Melo and Tina Pereira who also read The Prayer of the Faithful. The offertory gifts were presented by Jennifer McCaffrey and Stephanie Almeida, who also served as eulogist.  Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jeffrey Almeida, Gary Waddel, Dennis Melo, Joey Branco, Ronnie Coelho and Jeff Raposa.
