COVID is terribly frustrating for all of us, but it teaches us some important lessons too. Being of advanced age, I received my first COVID vaccine last weekend at the Quinta Gamelin Center right here in Bristol.
From the first moment of driving into the parking lot until leaving a half-hour later, I was overcome with the kindness and concern of ALL the volunteers. The police and firefighters directing us to parking spaces were smiling and greeting each driver with kind words and encouragement. Upon entering the building, the organization of the Quinta Gamelin staff was obvious.
There must have been at least 25 volunteers assisting with directions, paper work, administering the vaccines, and checking one out afterwards. They even asked us to wait 15 minutes in our cars and honk if we felt any ill effects. They would come and help in any way.
Tears came to my eyes! This was our community helping our community in such a visible way. Thanks to all of you!
