Posted

The late Brigadier General Michael T. Byrnes (U.S. Army, Ret.) was commemorated during a ceremony on July 1 at the Burnside Veterans Memorial Honor Roll Garden, where a plaque was unveiled in his honor recognizing his lifelong service and dedication to Bristol, the United States, and his family and friends.

“A remarkable son of Bristol and a life well lived in service to his God, family, country and town,” the plaque reads. “Career soldier, combat wounded (Vietnam), patriot, diplomat, businessman, entrepreneur, epitome of civil leadership, tireless advocate of veterans, first responders, education, faith and family. Friend to many, respected by all.”
