East Providence Mayor and Senate candidates meet in forum tonight

Candidates to be the next Mayor of East Providence, as well as Democratic candidates for one General Assembly seat, will meet in a Primary Forum this evening, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The forum will be held on Zoom and broadcast live.

Candidates featured in tonight’s event, which is sponsored by the League of Women Voters Rhode Island and the East Bay Media Group, are:

  • East Providence Mayor: Roberto DaSilva, Maureen Gomes-Lopez, Ruari Miller, and John Rossi;
  • Senate District 14: Democrats Robert Britto and Gregory R. Greco.

The forums will be broadcast live on Zoom and can be viewed any time between Sept. 1 and Primary Election Day, Sept. 13. A link to the video will be on the League of Women Voters of Rhode Island website, www.lwvri.org
