EAST PROVIDENCE — Forty editions now spread over five decades, the annual East Providence Heritage Days Festival took place over three days last weekend, July 29-31, on and around the grounds of Pierce Memorial Field.

Thousands visited the fest with it squarely back on the community calendar after being interrupted by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, taking in the performances the opening act on Friday night, The David Tessier All-Star Stars, through the renowned Rolling Stones tribute band, “The Blushing Brides,” to close the event Sunday evening, and other cover crews of James Brown, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney and Led Zeppelin in between.

Patrons, as well, enjoyed the rides, games and food offerings in addition to other forms of entertainment from the likes of Rockwell Amusements and various local food trucks.
