Letter: Wishing Len and Jhodi sincere wishes going forward

To the editor:

I was a Portsmouth resident for 30 years before moving to nearby Swansea in December. I had the privilege of covering politics for The Newport Daily News for 33 years.

During that time I got to know a little about Len Katzman. I found him to be an honest and principled man. Some may disagree with his political positions, but only the most cynical would say he was not a conscientious and dedicated public servant.

I sadly learned recently of his decision to leave the Town Council because of his wife Jhodi’s illness. Although I no longer am a Portsmouth resident, I feel badly that the town has lost a devoted council member.

I wish Len and especially Jhodi sincere wishes that they can fight this battle to a successful outcome.
