PORTSMOUTH — A Middletown man was arrested by Portsmouth Police on Wednesday, March 3, and charged with the possession and delivery of cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy) pills.

The arrest of Steven Sousa, of 15A Woolsey Road, was a result of a traffic stop and investigation by the Portsmouth Police Narcotics Unit, according to Deputy Police Chief Michael C. Arnold.

Police found cocaine and MDMA pills inside Mr. Sousa’s vehicle, Deputy Arnold said.

“During this investigation, it was revealed that Sousa had been distributing the drugs to the Portsmouth area,” the deputy said in a prepared statement.

Middletown Police and K-9 also assisted in the investigation, he said.
