PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School girls’ varsity soccer team won its Division II quarterfinal match against North Smithfield Friday night, 4-0.
It was the second time the Patriots blanked the Northmen this season, as they defeated North Smithfield, 2-0, at home on Sept. 12.
The Patriots are the No. 2 seed in the tournament, while North Smithfield was seeded No. 7.
Portsmouth advances to face No. 3 seed Lincoln at Johnston High School at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
The winner of that match will play in the Division II championship game at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Rhode Island College.
