Patriots advance to D-I quarterfinals after 58-46 victory over Cranston West

PORTSMOUTH — Maeve Tullson scored 14 points to lead the Portsmouth High girls’ varsity basketball team to a 58-46 victory over Cranston West in the preliminary round of the Division I playoffs Thursday night at home.

The Patriots came from behind in the second half to advance to play Juanita Sanchez in the quarterfinals on the road Monday night, Feb. 20.

Emily Maito scored 13 points in the win. Ava Moore added 11 points, and Olivia Durant scored 8.

The Patriots finished the regular season with a 11-7 record in the division and 13-8 overall.
