So this is the famous yoga pants letter. I first heard about it on the national news. It even made it onto the BBC world news.
Women, of course, can wear whatever they want, but I'll admit that it has always puzzled me that so many out-of-shape woman wear skin-tight clothes in public. No, I don't enjoy looking at such women -- however, I wouldn't have written a cranky letter-to-the-editor about it. Truthfully, I don't see many women wearing such clothing, so I don't see why it's an issue. I suspect that yoga pants are the equivalent of sweat pants for men, and that women wear them as a matter of comfort.
Let me add that no one is complaining about cycling tights on men, which can be very revealing.
