The Collaborative recently announced their 7th Annual Warren Folks Festival, which will occur on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 1-7 p.m. at 30 Cutler St. in Warren.
The Warren Folks Fest is a free, one-day music, art and food festival that has been nominated for Motif Magazine’s Best Festival award every year since it launched.
“Folks Fest brings in thousands of folks to celebrate all things local and we look forward to it every year,” said Collaborative Executive Director and Founder, Uriah Donnelly. “The funds this generates help us support local artists, youth, and the public throughout the rest of the year, so it’s important to our organization. But mostly it’s an excuse to celebrate the community we do this for.”
This festival offers nine musical acts between two stages along with art and wares from over 30 Rhode Island artists and makers. This year the festival will also host a free Kids Crafts Tent, Recycle-a-bike Tent, and an information booth for The Collaborative. The range of local restaurants coming to Warren Folks Fest includes: Hunky Dory, Bywater Restaurant, Chomp Kitchen & Drinks, Chelsea’s Creamery, Basil & Bunny, Anna’s Vesuviano, Ming’s Asian Street Food, and Cultro.
As in past years, the Beer Garden is fully sponsored by Narragansett Beer with 100% of the proceeds going to The Collaborative.
“The partnership we have created with Narraganset is very important to us. They are incredibly generous and have been big supporters of The Collaborative for a long time. We couldn't do this without them,” Donnelly shared. Besides Narragansett, there will be light cocktails from Cruisin’ Cocktails, as well as nonalcoholic beverages from Kristi’s Kraftails and Del’s Lemonade.
This family-friendly festival takes place in the backlot of 30 Cutler Street in Warren, rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to walk or bike in as parking is limited.
