Alice (Costa) Wilkie, 54, of Little Compton, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Rhode Island Hospital, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was the wife of the late Michael J. Wilkie, Sr. and fiancé of Richard E. Berube, Jr.
Alice was born in Fall River, daughter of the late John R. and Esmeralda “Joan” (Ribeiro) Costa, and had resided in Tiverton for most of her life. She was a District manager for Starbucks, for 17 years, a job she truly enjoyed.
She loved to shop, give generous gifts and spend time with her family. She was very involved in her parish, St. Theresa’s Church. She served on the RCIA team with her late husband, served as Eucharistic minister, served on the parish finance council. She also volunteered to run the children’s games and prizes for the parish bazaar for many years.
She will be remembered for her incredible generosity as she was always willing to help anyone in need. She bought Christmas presents for needy families every year, she donated her time, resources, and monetary donations whenever she had the opportunity to help anyone less fortunate. She was a blessing and an example of God’s love, to everyone she encountered.
Along with her fiancé, she is survived by her son: Michael J. Wilkie, Jr. of Little Compton; her brother: John R. Costa and his wife Michelle of Tiverton; her three sisters: Paula J. Oliveira and her husband Albert of Salisbury, Mass., Denise L. Buchanan and her husband Bruce of Tiverton and Robin A. Jones and her husband Bill of Swansea; along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Alice loved her role as an Auntie and spoiled them whenever she got the chance.
She was the sister of the late Christine K. Costa and Gregory R. Costa.
