Ann Marie (D’Alessio) Krushnowski Milano, “the Norns,” passed at the age of 81 years old.

Longtime resident of Bristol, and most recently of North Venice, Fla., Mrs. Milano passed peacefully in the home of her granddaughter on June 5, in Bristol, lovingly surrounded by her family.

Born to Charles and Cora (Quintal) D’Alessio in Fall River, Mass., on the 28th day of October, 1933, Mrs. Milano was the past wife of the late John Krushnowski and present wife to John Milano. A graduate of Bayview Academy, she later attended Bryant University.

She was best known for her flare for fashion and retail expertise at Cora’s Dress Shop in Bristol, and later at Filenes and Treasures. She was an office assistant to several physicians before actively devoting her life to caring for friends and family in her home. Mrs. Milano’s true passion was her volunteer work for St. Vincent De Paul and hospice.

Mrs. Milano loved to read, travel, cook, entertain and spend time with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, John Milano; sister Hortense “Sis” Cortsal; her children, Karl, Eric, Ann, Johna, Patty, Fran, Tom, Peggy, Mary, Joe, Mike and Robert; her grandchildren, Daniel, David, Nikki, John, Nathan, Matthew, Jesse, Maura, Maggie, Morgan, Paddy, Bridget, Owen, Gregory, Allison, Cathleen, Connor, Timothy and Donovan; and her great grandchildren, Kristine, Chloe, Carson, Oliver, Brielle and Annabelle.

Mrs. Milano’s mass will be held at St Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol, on Friday June 12 at 10 a.m.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
