Question: Is there a particular issue that motivates you to serve?
Ray Clark (R) — “The Barrington Town Council has become a single-party body. I believe strongly that any government body that has all its members operating in lockstep runs the danger of losing touch with what is important to many of its constituents. I want to bring some balance back to the town council.”
Kate Berard (D) — “Improving infrastructure: sidewalks and bike lanes for safe congruent travel; upgrades to our buildings, fields, trails and water access points; maybe building a new community center. I want to work on sensible, green improvements that are forward thinking and carefully planned in the face of rising seas and powerful weather.”
Jarrod Ryan (R) — “No, what really motivates me to serve is my sons and sense of family. Our family-oriented town needs to protect our successful systems and expand on them for future generations. We need to ensure important services for those in need and the youth need more safe passage and remarkable fields.”
Braxton Medlin (D) — “As a Black man, I look at everything through a DEI lens. At the top of my list of issues that motivate me to serve is representation. People can't be what they can't see. Town leadership should reflect the population it serves. To be clear, I am not referencing partisanship.”
