Bank makes plans for County Road property in Barrington

Former AAA building would be a bank branch with drive-up ATM

Chase Bank is planning to open a branch office in Barrington.

Officials filed an application with the Barrington Zoning Board of Review recently, seeking a special use permit and a dimensional variance for the building located at the northwest corner of Maple Avenue and County Road.

The building, owned by AAA Northeast, had been home to a branch office for AAA but that company is no longer using that location. A Coldwell Banker office is located in the building.

Chase Bank is leasing the property and applied for the permit and variance. Officials are seeking a permit for drive-through service; the plan requires a dimensional variance for a drive-through canopy for the rear yard setback and signage. The plan proposes a drive-up ATM with canopy located toward the western edge of the property.

The zoning board's meeting is scheduled for Nov. 19.
