The Barrington High School boys volleyball team is off to a 6-1 start this season.
The Eagles, ranked second in Division II standings, knocked off Westerly and Toll Gate last week. Barrington suffered its lone set-back in a loss to Cranston West on Thursday, April 20.
On Tuesday, April 18, Barrington hosted 5-1 Westerly and rolled to a 3-0 victory. The Eagles won 25-16, 25-22, 25-21. SangMin Park led the Eagles with 33 assists, five digs and two aces, while outside pin-hitter Maddox Godwin tallied 14 kills and seven digs. Max Oberacker finished the game with six kills, two blocks and two aces. As a team, Barrington recorded 36 kills, 11 aces, eight blocks, and 37 digs.
On Thursday, April 20, the Eagles hosted Cranston West in a battle of unbeaten teams. The Falcons knocked off the Eagles, 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 19-25).
Godwin had another strong game. The junior had 10 kills and seven digs for the Eagles while Luke VanNess had seven digs. As a team, Barrington finished with 24 kills, three aces, 36 digs and three blocks.
Barrington bounced back with a 3-0 win over Toll Gate. The Eagles won 25-18, 25-10, 25-13. Cam Kelley led the team with 13 kills and eight digs, while James Ciummo had seven kills, six aces and one block.
