Barrington golf team continues to win

Eagles cruise past Tigers and Vikings

The Barrington High School golf team defeated Tiverton and Rogers on May 16. The Eagles finished with a low team score of 162, while the Tigers were second at 218 and the Vikings were third at 232. The match was played at Newport Country Club. 

Cole Vieira and his brother Christian led the way for Barrington. Cole finished with a score of 39 while Christian fired a 40. Sean Bonneau had 41 and Ryan O’Connell tallied a 42. Isabelle Chen finished with a score of 43 and Ian McTaggart had a 46.

A day earlier, Barrington knocked off Middletown and Bay View. Playing at Wanumetonomy Country Club, the Eagles finished with a team score of 153. Middletown was second at 193, and Bay View was third at 236.

Cole Vieira finished with a 35 to pace Barrington, while Lily Dessel finished with a 38, AJ Colonna tallied a 39 and Adam Gorman finished with a 41. Christian Vieira had a 41 and Bonneau finished with a 42.

The Eagles had three non-competing participants: O’Connell finished with 40, while Claire McTaggart had a 46 and Isabelle Chen scored a 49. 

On May 9, Barrington topped Portsmouth, 157-172. The match was at Green Valley Country Club.

Colonna led the Eagles with a low score of 38, followed by Bonneau at 39, and Gorman and Cole Vieira at 40. O’Connell finished the round with a 44, and Nolan Leonard had a 46.
