Barrington Police are investigating the vandalism of a book left in a little free library near Wood’s Pond and Peck Center building, and handling the case as an alleged hate crime.
Police said someone wrote disturbing and derogatory messages on a Spanish children’s book. Police said they are investigating the incident as a hate crime, as the messages were racist.
Officers searched the area to see if there were any surveillance cameras in the area that may have picked up footage of the vandalism, but were unable to find any.
