Barrington school will host Tough Tiger adventure race this month

HMS Tough Tiger returns on May 19

The Tough Tiger adventure race will step off on Sunday, May 19, and this year’s race promises to have something for everyone.

The popular Hampden Meadows School PTO fund-raiser will offer two courses. The Blue Course will follow runs along a few side-streets, through the woods to Sowams School, back along the Greenbelt trail, past Kent Street Pond and finishes at Hampden Meadows School. It will feature a number of obstacles including a climbing wall, a bungee maze, A-frame cargo nets, “dirt is lava,” and a mud pit car wash.

There will also be a Yellow Course that includes adaptive features that cater to a range of abilities. That course follows a shorter loop through neighborhood streets and some woods and will have obstacles such as the Tiger Tunnel, Cross the Creek, Paw Print Pounce and also finishes through the mud pit car wash.

The first 1,000 people to register will receive a performance Tough Tiger T-shirt. There will also be themed class baskets available at an auction, and food trucks will be stationed at the school.

The race is open to anyone age 5 and older. People can register as individuals or as a family (Tiger Pack).
