Barrington Police charged a 16-year-old Barrington boy with assault on a person 60-or-older (causing bodily harm), and disorderly conduct, following an investigation last week.
Police said the local teenager assaulted a relative who is 60 or older and made threats to kill the same person. Police said the victim is the teenager’s grandmother.
“Based on the facts, the juvenile was arrested and transported to the Rhode Island Family Court on an Emergency Petition,” stated the press release from Barrington Police. “The juvenile is currently being held at the Rhode Island Training School. This juvenile was one of several individuals arrested and charged with felony assault on another student.”
This investigation was led by Barrington Police Ptlm. Michael Gregorzek and Ptlm. Joel Saccoccio. The Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office is handling the case in Family Court.
